I’ve had this watch for a little over 2 months, and I love it. To be objectives let’s start with my rants.

Since this has a Japan only radio reception and I live in the Philippines (which is relatively close to Japan), I can’t use the regular time function. The watch syncs with the radio signal every night and when I wake up in the morning, it’s an hour ahead. To remedy this, I have to set the watch to local time function. With the local time function, I get an accurate time all the time. Another rant is that the second hand is not pointing exactly at the right point; it’s skewed by a little bit. Most people wouldn’t notice, but when its exactly twelve midnight or noon, all three hands are pointing to the 12 o’clock position and I can see that the second hand is not exactly on the dot. The lume on the hands and dial don’t last much past half an hour.

Now for the good stuff, I love the titanium case and bracelet, it’s extremely light for the size. I’ve had smaller, stainless steel watches and those weigh tons on my wrist. The sapphire crystal is exquisite, it’s like it isn’t even there. You can see the dial so clearly through the sapphire. The Duratect coating is great as well, there seems to be no scratches since I got this. The build quality is excellent, the best among the watches I own, and I have a Tudor. Only time will tell if the coating will hold true. All the positive stuff definitely trumps the negatives. I would definitely buy this watch again given the chance. People who live in North America or countries far from Japan might want to consider other models that have a worldwide reception.

I wish Citizen would produce a world time reception version of this watch. It is so unique that I have not found a watch with the same combination of functionality and style (you mention other models?).

Were you able to find an english translation of the user manual? I ask because I am also considering purchasing this watch but have been unable to find any other model using the E610 movement, that is sold with an english manual.

As far as the alignment of the second hand, are you able to do an “all reset and zero position” function? When I purchased my Attesa ATV53-2833 a couple of it’s hands had allignment issues, however, the zero position function allowed me to make minute adjustments of the hands to allign them perfectly.

Finally, if you purchased your watch online, might you make a recommendation?

I believe I found an english manual, based on the E670 movement, that appears to also apply to the E610 movement. Within, there is a discussion on how to adjust the reference position of the hands. It can be found at:

    Wristwatch,

I really like the features, style and look of the PMP56-2933. I’m a little concerned about only having a 1 year manufacturer’s warranty and would like to ask your opinion about its durability. Would you suggest this watch to military folks in the field and the rigors of that lifestyle. Ground pounders, not pilots I would add. I’m looking to replace a Swiss Military time piece that is down for repairs and would appreciate your advice. Cheers…

Contacted Support. While both USA and Japan Broadcast Radio Waves in 60 kHz The time codes broadcasted are different and these Models aren”t equiped with a compatable receiver for the USA. Only “World Time” Models will receive USA Germany Landon And USA.

    Hi there,

i’m from austria/europe. in this region this watch is only distributed in silver with a black face (AS4050-51E). i love the homogene dark metal-design of PMP56-2933 so i decided to import this only in japan produced and sold version. At the end i spent about twice of the price the regional model would cost here – but i would do it again.

I knew that the reception of radio signals in europe wouldn’t work. So I use it as an usual quartz-watch. PMP56-2933 is designed only to receive japanese corretion signals. In China this feature will not work.

  9. I need one. 🙂

When I look at your website in Ie, it looks fine but when opening in Internet Explorer,

    Other then that, awesome blog!

  14. I think everything composed made a ton of sense. However, think about
this, what if you wrote a catchier title? I am not saying your information isn’t solid., however what if you added a title that makes people want more? I mean Citizen PMP56-2933 WristWatch is a little vanilla. You ought to peek at Yahoo’s front page and
note how they create article headlines to grab people to click.
You might add a related video or a picture or
two to get people excited about everything’ve written. Just my opinion, it might bring your blog a little bit more interesting.

  17. Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this website. It’s simple, yet effective.

A lot of times it’s tough to get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appearance. I must say you’ve done a fantastic
job with this. Additionally, the blog loads very fast for me on Chrome.
    Outstanding Blog!
