The new i:Virts are the most useful bluetooth device in the market today, IMHO. Iamgine you’re in an important meeting, and your phone rings, glancing at your mobile phone maybe considered impolite, but a casual glance at your watch isn’t. In comes the i:Virt, it displays caller ID, messages and even emails. Citizen launched 5 new models today. 4 are made out of plastic and 1 out of titanium. The color LCD adds a lot to the readability and functionality of these watches. Another great thing are that these watches are rechargable, after all bluetooth does suck a lot of juice.

Does anyone know if I’ll be able to read my Bluetooth enabled Blackberry emails on it? If so – I gotta get me one…

I would suppose that these models will only work in Japan. I’ll check further if it can work with the Blackberry and will get back to you.

Does the blogging trend annoy you? Seems like you click on any of the 25 links above to go to the same single page. I prefer a site (like this one) that actually creates content for a visitor than merely syndicating (regurgitating) the same story.
wristwatch said
It really does bother me. I know of 2 sites, which just copies and pastes content from my site and passes it on as thiers. When you do a google search with my url, you’ll even find some guy hiring freelance coders to rip my entire site and automatically add any new content directly from this site to his. Anyways, I must be doing something decent if its worth copying. One thing I noticed is, that most of the sites above are just using other peoples content to score hits on adsense. Just feels like theres more spammy websites out there. This is why I try not to have any form of advertising on this site, this way I won’t seem baised towards any brand. Journalistic integrity anyone? 🙂

[…] Filed under: Uncategorized TuesdayOct 23,2007 Until now, if you wanted a Bluetooth watch that could show you your cellphone caller ID info, usually you had to wear a cheap plastic monstrosity on your wrist. But Citizen has somewhat alleviated that problem, releasing i:Virt, a variety of five Bluetooth-compatible watches that don’t look half bad. With a product like this, pricing is one of the most important specs, so it’s too bad Citizen’s not forthcoming with that info just yet. If the price is right, we wouldn’t mind wearing that titanium model in the middle. Each watch even comes with a strange-looking canister case that we rather like. Check out the gallery for close-ups of each timepiece. [Wristwatch] […]

wristwatch – can you tell me is Windows Mobile supported by these watches or not? And what is the approximate price of the titanium one?
wristwatch said
Frankly, I doubt if this watch would be compatible with any phone outside of Japan. Most of the advanced features will only work with Sharp models which are sold only in Japan and can’t be used elsewhere. As soon as the price is released for these models, I’ll update this page to let you know.
Cheers, wristwatch

–== TechnoMage ==–, I would suppose that “cheap plastic monstrosity” are the earlier models of i:Virt.
