I have this watch and I love it, but the big long second hand does not move except when changing settings to point to the time zone you are selecting. Is this a defective watch? It keeps perfect time.

I am not talking about the little tiny stopwatch hands.

Vance – have you check the Owner’s Guide for your watch?

I figured out a work-around – I just leave it in stopwatch mode. I start the stopwatch and the little 20th of a second hand on the bottom small circle spins rapidly around for a minute, then stops. That leaves the big second hand on the main face ticking away. Works for me.

The big hand is not supposed to move. That’s what usually the bottom circle does. Don’t leave the stopwatch always on. that drains the battery. Almost all chronograph watches work like this. it’s not broken. that’s how it’s supposed to be.

Thanks, Joel. That clears things up. It is hard for me to figure out Casio watch designers’ intent most of the time.

Just for information’s sake, my watch has been in stopwatch mode for a week now without noticeable battery drain. I live in Colorado and the sun is pretty bright here.
