IWC Aquatimer Chronograph “Cousteau Divers”

Posted by wristwatch on July 8, 2007

Marine explorer and diver Jacques-Yves Cousteau devoted his life to the fascinating underwater world and the mysteries of its inhabitants. For many years, he scoured the world’s oceans, drawing people’s attention to the problems of this wonderful but threatened environment. Together with the Cousteau Society, IWC has committed itself to ensuring that his work goes on. This is the reason why IWC will in 2007 once again be producing a watch designed to remind us of the important message left by this unforgotten explorer: the new Aquatimer Chronograph “Cousteau Divers”. Available in a limited edition of 2500, the watch has a 44-millimetre stainless steel case with a back cover showing its individual number and a complex relief engraving of a diver amidst a shoal of small fish. The rotating inner bezel differs from last year’s model in being bright orange, and is operated using the dual-function reset crown. It combines with the deep marine blue and rhodium-plated subdials to create a vibrant combination of colours.
