Rolex Milgauss

Posted by wristwatch on June 24, 2007

One of the consequences of present-day technological developpement is that an ever increasing number of scientists and technicians is exposed to magnetic fields of varying intensities in the course of their day-to-day work. These specialists have something in common: their watches must keep excellent time. One of the basic difficulties wich they have to face is that an ordinary watch placed in a magnetic field just over 60 Oersted begins to behave erratically and its movement will stop working well before the magnetic force reaches a strenght of 1000 Oersted. Rolex accepted this challenge and now, after several years of research into the problem, it has produced a solution in the form of the amazing Milgauss watch. It has the ability to resist a magnetic field of 1,000 Gauss.
